vizio lcd or lg plasma?
Q. I'm looking for a new hdtv. I've been looking at the vizio 42 inch 1080p. The whole reason I want the tv is for my PS3, and to upgrade from my 32 inch magnavox. The 1080p would be great for the ps3, up its not that big of name. I am now looking at a lg plasma 42 inch 720p. I'm not concerned about burn-in, so which should I choose?

A. LCD's are cheaper these days, and plasmas still have a burn-in problem.

I got a very nice LCD monitor awhile back (no TV tuner, since I get my tv signals from a cable box anyway - why pay for something you don't need???). An Olevia 37" for under $600. It's FABULOUS! Only 1080i, but I'm not thinking about going HD DVD just yet anyway, and 1080i is just fine for my HD cable box.

First time buying hdtv lcd?

Q. I'm looking to buy an HDTV LCD about 40-42" for under 1500, to use for watching movies, and gaming. I was thinking of getting the Sony KDL-40V4100 but can't find many reviews on that. Is there a better tv than that, that has more features & or better picture quality? Or is that a pretty good tv? Also is 120hz worth the extra cash? All help is greatly appreciated!!

A. Well, honestly I think that Sony is probably the best thing you could get for the 1500 dollars. Its got wonderful contrast ratios, 4 HDMI ports, 1080p which is excellent for gaming and for bluray BUT.... if you are willing to pony up an extra bit of cash for the 6 inches then I'd HIGHLY recommend the Samsung LN-T4671, I bought this tv about a month ago and could no be happier the picture is almost unnaturally smooth and the colors are as vibrant and the $3500 sony's in the stores, I am a bit partial to samsung's as now I have 1 dlp and 2 of their lcd's and wouldn't buy another sony or any brand from now on for that matter. And finally if you are looking to save a bit of money and go slightly cheaper I'd recommend the LN40A530, it is pushing just around 1200 and the picture quality is amazing as well (the other samsung in my house =D)

Which is a better buy, a LCD t.v. or a HDTV?
Q. What is the difference between LCD and HDTV? Which is a better buy? Which brand is best?

A. well a LCD TV is a HDTV.. one thing to look for how high the resolution is going to be on the TV.. now they dont make TV's that are lower then 720p. if you want a good tv i would recommend to go with a samsung.. it seems like you get more for your dollar with a samsung. they seem to have the higher contrast out of most TV's. sony's picture looks good too but you dont get much for your dollar. the highest HD picture out now that you can get is 1080p which is a step above the 720p. also, out of LCD's and plasmas, get the LCD. they have a better HD picture and they dont get as hot as the plasma. if you watch a good amount of TV at a time the plasma will heat the room a lot more then the LCD. overall the LCD is better IMO. i HOPE this helps.
