Q. I just purchased a new Samsung 40 Inch 1080p HDTV yesterday (4/14/09) and noticed the screen needs to be cleaned somehow...How can this be carefully done without risk of damaging the screen?
A. First and foremost no ammonia or bleach based products. No paper based cloths (paper towel, tissue, whatever). Next read the TV's manual. Most will discuss cleaning the TV. Basically what you want to check out here is anything it says is a major "don't use." Then you can cross reference that with anything you might later purchase/consider.
The easiest way is to go to a TV, electronics, or big box store and just ask for an LCD cleaning kit. Hopefully it will come with a nice microfibre cloth for you as well. Then all you do is lightly mist some of the cleaning solution onto the cloth (never the TV) and wipe down the TV.
The DIY solution is go to the drug store and get Isopropyl Alcohol (91%) and mix it with water in a 1:1 ratio in a spray bottle. Then lightly mist that onto a soft cloth (again not the TV) and wipe down the TV.

Should I buy a 40 inch LCD HDTV from Sony or Samsung?
Q. I am about to go to buy my new HDTV and I have narrowed it down to 2. The Sony Bravia LCD HDTV is $629 and the Samsung is $679. They both look very similar to me yet I have not seen the picture quality of either. Has anybody ever owned either of these two sets? What do you think about it? Thanks alot for any input.
A. sony.......now go get the TV............NOW!
