How do I get my LED HD TV to 240 HZ when connected to PC?

Q. I just bought a Toshiba 65" 1080p Clearscan 240Hz LED-LCD HDTV 65L7300U

I connected it to my PC with an HDMI cable. The HDMI cable runs from my PC's GTX 670 graphics card to the HDMI 1 input on the TV.

I set the TV as an extended display on my PC. The picture looks good, but I cant get the 240 HZ refresh rate. I am only getting 60hz which is not good on a big screen. My desktop monitor is getting 120HZ. When I try to change the refresh rate on the TV, the settings only go from 24HZ to 60HZ. (120 or 240 are not even listed). I also tried looking under the tv settings, but cant find any option for the HZ refresh rate. It bugs me that I'm only getting 60HZ on the TV. I would like to get 240 because I know the TV is capable of that. Any advice on how to get this?

Also for my PC monitor, I am using a Dual link DVI cable. Maybe that is the reason why I can get 120 HZ on that monitor? Does HDMI not support 120 or 240HZ?

A. There is no standard for HDTV color support. Until recently the color of each pixel was regulated by three 8-bit color values, each representing the level of red, blue, and green which defined a pixel color. Together the 24 total bits defining color yielded just under 17 million possible pixel colors.

Recently some manufacturers have produced systems that can employ 10 bits for each color (30 bits total) which provides for a palette of 1 billion colors, saying that this provides a much richer picture, but there is no agreed way to specify that a piece of equipment supports this feature. Human vision can only discern approximately 1 million colors[citation needed] so an expanded color palette is of questionable benefit to consumers.

A. LED will provide you better picture quality than LCD, deeper black.
Good brand and model that I would recommend is Samsung UN55C6500 55-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV

or another good choice if you want for sport, not for gaming is Plasma. Plasma will provide you faster response, smoother motion which good for action sports. Panasonic or Samsung are good brand to get.
