Q.
A. Toshiba 22AV615DB 22-inch Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV is the best lcd tv.
Easy to set up on stand (just 0ne click, no screws to mess about with)and set up the Freeview. Bought this for my bedroom and is just the right size. Nice epg and remote. Picture and sound quality excellent, very pleased with this TV. A terrific price for a proper branded TV.Sony/Panasonic, which on such a small TV is not worth it anyway, well not for the extra £[]+ they were asking. All in all this Toshiba is a great widescreen TV at a great price. Go for it !

A. You could get a real cheap 50 inch plus lcd TV these days. The reason why is that the there's heavy competition among the different brands. But from my experience I would recommend Panasonic when it comes to LCD. There's also Samsung and LG, but it often seems like Panasonic is one step ahead, when it comes to picture-quality.
If you want the most modern for the future technology you should consider a LED HDTV. However I wouldn't have bought a real cheap one. You should be prepared to pay considerable more for a descent quality LED HDTV, to get equal quality to LCD. This is because the technology is newer than LCD, and therefore the products are more expensive. Samsung has several 55 inch LED HDTV models, both the 7000 and 8000 series. The Samsung UN55B8000 is getting very good reviews, and is probably one of the best LED HDTV's right now. If you can't afford the UN55B8000, I would recommend buying a LCD HDTV instead of a cheaper LED HDTV.
