What is the best 32 Inch LCD HDTV?
Q.

A. Panasonic VIERA C12 Series TC-L32C12 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV is one of the best TVs under $500 you can find on the market. I did a LOT of research looking for what I wanted in a TV. I've been wanting a nice flatscreen for a while now. I've been holding out as and quality has been improving while prices have been dropping. I finally settled on this Panasonic.

I wanted a TV for primarily movies (Hi Def and standard or upconverted Def) and video games (Hi Def and standard def). I do not have a cable subscription and am not interested in HD cable services. That being said, I also wanted a TV that would double as a humongous PC monitor. I'm pleased to say this TV meets and exceeds my needs so far. It's a big upgrade from the 20 inch tube TV I was using before the VIERA.

The LCD TV is nice looking and has a variety of cable inputs. Both the remote and menu systems are top-notch and useful. This TV puts out true 720p resolution and has 4:3 ratio (standard, full-frame) and zoom scaling as well. For TVs 32 inches and under, 1080p (while nice) is not necessary, as you'd be hard pressed to notice a dramatic difference with your HDMI or component sources. The picture is super sharp, and the image control available with this TV is pretty impressive. You can really play with the picture and color. I was laughing at the ability to essentially reproduce that 60's Technicolor supersaturation if you want. It really brings films to life. You can make up to 4 preset color choices, too- One for films, one for sports or live action TV, one for video games, one for kid's cartoons, etc, etc.
I would highly recommend this TV.

Should i buy an lcd hdtv or lcd computer monitor?

Q. I want a small screen for my room so i can game on it (ps3 and laptop games). I dont want to spend over 200 and i want at least 19". What are the pros and cons of a lcd tv vs lcd monitor (i can get a larger moniter for cheaper)?

A. The main difference between the two is connection types. The LCD TV will have more TV related connection formats (Component, Composite, S-Video, Stereo RCA, etc.) and built in speakers. The LCD Monitor will have more Computer related connection formats (VGA, DVI, etc.). But if both have HDMI, then you're likely able to use either equally.

But the speakers could become an issue. The PS3 is going to send out audio via HDMI. And as is my understanding, its not going to give you audio via anything else at that point. So if you go HDMI into a Computer Monitor with no speakers, your PS3 has no sound. So you would need a Computer Monitor which has an audio output port that you can hook up speakers to. Many have them, but its just something you need to make sure of.

In smaller sets, a Computer Monitor is more likely to actually have a higher resolution. A smaller 720p TV is likely 1024x768 or something like that. But you can get smaller computer monitors that are more in 1440 or such type resolutions. So for the computing related things, that might be an advantage to have.

If you can find a Monitor with audio out for speakers, I think that might be the best bet. I would look at Dell or Samsung myself, but I guess everyone has their own preferences with monitors.

Which LCD HDTV should I buy?
Q. So I am planning to buy a 26" LCD HDTV for $300-$500. I found 2 at costco. Here are the links...

Which out of the two would you choose? I am using my tv mainly for my xbox 360 and just watching tv. Now don't tell me to go buy a Sony or Samsung. I can't afford +$600. I am only 16 years old.

A. If I was in your situation, I would save. Because walmart, costco units are cheap for a reason.

The westinghouse line are crap. When its out of warranty and it breaks you trash it.

The thing is if you dont buy a quality unit the first time, you could end up paying more when the el cheapo craps out.

Even with an extended warranty, costso doesn't do repairs there, they try to find and call around for people near by to do the repairs for them. Most of the time, service's reject it, service only what they sell.

The sony has a 26 M series I believe for $699. Trust me its worth it in the long run.
