Trying to plan out a time to buy this HDTV...?
Q. The HDTV I want is the 32" Vizio VIA XVT Razor LED LCD 1080p 120Hz HDTV. I love everything about this TV. Even the price. It's perfect for my room. I don't need anything big. Have a 50 inch TV in the living room, so I'm fine. I vaguely remember my friend telling me that when the new year starts (2012), they put all the old/current TVs on sale, to get rid of them, so they can get some new TVs on the shelves. Is this true?

A. when replacement models with new features come available, yes the older stock is usually discounted... but that manufacturer might not release a new model every 6 months, or every year...

whats the best big screen HDTV(LCD,Plasma or DLP) for PS3/Xbox360?
Q. wanting to buy 2 HDTV's..a small one for son's room for his soon to have PS3 and or XBox360 and one for my livingroom to mainly watch sports and movies

A. Several Companies make 70" LCD and Plasma screens
but the best way to go for image quality would be the 72" DLP projection screen is the biggest available on retail market, however samsung has a 108" LCD that will be out soon.

Do you think they are selling me the tv at a good price?

Q. Hi my friend is selling me his mitsubishi 62" lcd hdtv for $900. I don't know if its a good price I don't know around how much these tvs cost and is it a good tv?

A. It's a good TV but the price is way too high for a used TV. Take that $900 to a store and buy a name brand that has a new set warranty. Settle for a 55" if you have to but it will be NEW.

Why are computer monitors of similar size to regular HD television sets so much more expensive?
Q. Is there a real difference in quality of picture? If so, what is it? And if not, why such a huge price disparity?

A. Yes, there is a real difference in the picture quality between a computer monitor and a TV. In order to display small text well, a LCD computer monitor has a higher density of pixels compared to a TV. For example, a 40 inch 1080p HDTV has 55 pixels per inch. A modern LCD monitor has 200 to 300 pixels per inch. The higher pixel density is more expensive to produce but allows the monitor to display text clearly.

What should I do concerning audio with two televisions in my living room?

Q. My roommate has a 32 inch LCD HDTV and I have a 37 inch LCD HDTV. We'd like to put both of them in the living room but we're not completely sure what to do about audio when we're watching different things. Does anybody have any suggestions? Please don't put something like only use one TV. Those answers don't help.

A. Get some wireless stereo headphones.

That is the only way you can watch two TVs this size in the same room without having volume wars...

What would you consider is the starting size of a large LCD HDTV?
Q. What would you consider is the average size of a decent LCD HDTV. Im not worried about the size of my room or whatever....etc. I want to buy an LCD HDTV that is just a little larger than normal. So......what would you consider is the starting screen size of a "larger than average" LCD HDTV? The guys at Best Buy recommended a 42in.......what do you think? Do you think a 42+ inches is the starting size of a "larger" TV size?

A. i know people who have 37" and it suits them just fine for an upgrade. My family just got a 42" but we've been putting off getting one for over 3 years...and probably won't upgrade for another 5 years at least.

Lcd 120hz vs Plasma 600hz?

Q. I will play video games 100% or the time on one of these hdtvs. Should I go with a 720p 600hz plasma or a 1080p 120hz Lcd. Both tvs are made by the same company.

A. The above post is incorrect. The screen glare problem has not been solved. Plasma screens are the glossy type. When I went to best buy, i noticed severe reflections from all angles. There is even a video done by CNET on the VT30 plasma TV (last years panasonic flagship model and also the TV in my bedroom) on youtube where you can see significant reflections even in a darker room. Plasma TVs are best suited for rooms with controlled lighting. In those conditions the plasma TV will produce great PQ. Also plasma TVs consume the same amount of power as the older plasma models. You can verify this through many review sites such as FlatpanelsHD or CNET. They measure the total watts consumption per hour and have it down on a chart. If you are adamant on purchasing a plasma, then I would recommend the ST50 by Panasonic. It is their most inexpensive plasma TV and it has gotten great reviews.

Now I recommend to you a LED LCD TV for gaming. My reasons are : if you plan on gaming a long time, your TV will not overheat and burn-in issues are non-existent. (i have seen burn-ins on a panasonic vt30 after only 5 months--even with the screen wipe feature in use). Also 3D gaming is a big plus for me so the comfort of the glasses will become significant enough to where it will affect the type of TV you may purchase. You will be able to play during the day. LED LCD TVs are very bright. Most 2012 LED TVs however have a glossy screen as well. You will get some unwanted reflections. I highly recommend LG's LW series 3D LED TVs (2011 models). They have a matte screen for unparalleled brightness and since its 2012 now, should be priced even lower than its competition.

what are the number 3 HD TVs on the market today?
Q.

A. Depending on what source you choose to get reviews, you can usually find the following three listed often in their top five

I usually rely on CNET reviews as a start, and they are pretty good with the testing and feedback.

Based on affordability, the current winners are: LCD and Plasma
Just remember, For rooms with natural light, LCD is the best
for darker rooms and better pictures, Plasma still wins.

There are pros and cons to each, you simply have to research and test them at show rooms, or ask friends, family and neighbours.

I personally have great experience with Panasonic and continue to stick to that brand. And what's more, Panasonic is always in the number one, two, or three spot.

so here are the top three for 2011( it will change, it always does)
Panasonic TC-PVT20/25
Samsung PNC8000 series
LG PX950 series

Looking to buy a lcd HDTV, wondering which ones are good?

Q. I am looking to buy a lcd hdtv and wanted to hear if anyone had suggestions for 46-52 inch. I like to play xbox 360, and the previous hdtv had a small but noticeable lag from when a button is pressed to when it shows up on the tv. Any suggestions?

A. If you can afford I would recommend Samsung LN52B750 52-Inch 1080p 240 Hz LCD HDTV or Samsung LN46B750 46-Inch 1080p 240 Hz LCD HDTV. Great picture with 150,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Smooth motion with 240Hz and fast 2ms response time

but if you want to save money Samsung LN52B630 52-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV or Samsung LN46B650 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV are great choice

do i still need a converter box or special cable connection to get local channels on an lcd hdtv?
Q. We just bought a phillips lcd hdtv. We had dish sattlelight but no longer have it. What connections do we need to get basic channels?

A. As long as your new TV says it has a built in tuner you should be fine. All ya need is an antenna.

-Halo reach game
-Call of duty (World at war, 2008)
-FIFA Soccer 2010
-30 FT CAT5 CAT5E Network LAN Ethernet Internet wt Cable

Is there something like a cable for HD channels or 3D channels that I should get?
And if I have a standard cable with standard channels, would I be able to view stuff in HD, 3D?
Thanks

A. Yes, you will need 2 HDMI cables, assuming your TV has 2 or more HDMI inputs. You'll at least need one for the BlueRay, the game console could get away with composite cable connections.

You'll also need somewhere to connect the other end of that 30' Ethernet cable. If you have a router, hub, switch or CAT5 jack in the room you'll be OK, otherwise you'll need to decide how to connect the Xbox.

How do I make my LCD HDTV clear?

Q. I just bought an LCD HDTV, and I am using regular comcast cable. The picture is not clear. I believe I need an hd tuner or something, but the picture is really grainy. Do I have to subscribe to hdtv, or just get a tuner, or both? FYI, the quality is pretty bad right now with niether a tuner or a subscription to hdtv. I'm confused.

A. Do you have a HD cable box ? If not you need to go and get one. Without the HD box there is no HD signal. You get the Box from your cable provider.

How do I get rid of this annoying green tint on my HDTV?
Q. I own an Ultravision LCD HDTV and it has an annoying green tint that we cannot get rid of! We have tried adjusting all the different visual settings including tint of course, but nothing comes close to getting rid of the tint. We've also tried unplugging cords and making sure they are tight. Any ideas on what we could do would be greatly appreciated!

A. Is it green all over,or is the green splotchy? Usually a consistent green tint all over the picture can be adjusted out by a tech,if you're talking about a picture that is "passably" green. If you have a green blob in the middle of the screen, that's a bad light engine, probably, and I'd shop for a new set. Hitachi has had this problem on many of their *projection* LCD TVs.

A. These are the one I would say are the best ones to pick from to buy, then those two. I would go to Best Buy, Sears Costco and any Magnolia Hi Fi that is inside a Best Buy to check and compare price. The features it has and kind of parts it uses are what makes the price difference.

is it possible to watch 3D movies in my 120gb play station 3?

Q. i got an LED LCD hdtv 3D tv, can i watch 3d movies by using my playstation3 120 GB? or Do i need a 3D blue ray player or something. Help me out.

A. Yes, but you may have to get an hdmi 1.4 cable if you don't have one already.

How do I change the channel so its on games?
Q. I own a Sony Bravia LED LCD HDTV 3D.
We got it a few days ago and we have no idea how to get on the channel it needs to be on in order to play games.

Thanks in advance!!! :)
Sorry if this is in the wrong category... I had no idea where else to put it. :/

A. AV typically would be the channel which can be seen on the remote as an arrow pointing into a box, usually at the top. Your tv however sounds new so if you have hooked your tv to say and xbox 360 or ps3 using a HD cable then it would be on one of the HD channels, to view the list of channels press 'source' on your remote, if you are using a scart lead (i.e. red, yellow and white needles) then it will be on the scart channel. Look at the back of your TV to see which port you have inserted the cable from the console into, then go to that channel.

I'm looking for a cheap 32 or 36 inch LCD HDTV. Does any one know where I can find one for cheap?

Q. I'm looking for a good cheap LCD HDTV to use to play my ps3.

A. i recommend Samsung LN32B530 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV
# 32-inch high definition TV with 1080p resolution
# Three HDMI, two component, and two composite video inputs
# Improved picture with 60,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 6ms response time and Wide Color Enhancer 2 technology
# Two 10W bottom speakers and SRS TruSurround HD for a rich surround-sound experience from two speakers

How much improvement will i see getting 720p tv vs my old huge fat big screen?
Q. I'll be trying to purchase my first flat screen in the upcoming weeks. I can only afford one thats 720p and not the 1080 pixel. I'm trying to guesstimate how much of an improvement it will be, as i will mostly use for watching blue rays and playing my ps3. I'll be getting an HDMI cable as well. The big old big screen i have is Hitatchi, and is 60 inches

A. I bought a 720p plasma as my first hdtv and now have 2 ps3s , ones attached to that tv and another to a 1080p lcd . I honestly like the plasma picture better , less pixelization on the older ps1 games , brighter colors and better response time means no lag between button press and action ( I sometimes get that on the lcd )
plus most games are actually only 720p anyway .
get the 720p and enjoy it whatever type it is
btw ' a plasma has a screen life of 100,000 hours ( 37 years ) so whoever says they burn out fast is wrong - the very first ones did but the technology is nearly perfected now

Does a radio do any harm to a television like magnets do?

Q. I just bought a Samsung 40 Inch 1080p LCD HDTV, and I have a radio right next to the TV. I'm just being really cautious, because it was a really expensive TV, and I don't want anything to hurt it.

A. According to the first source link I posted below,
"One other advantage especially for home theater fans is that flat-panel TVs aren't affected by the magnets of nearby unshielded speakers. You can't have picture tube distortion if there is no tube! "

According to the second source link I posted below,
"LCD displays do not use electron beams, as conventional TVs do. They are immune to the effects of magnetic fields. Components such as loudspeakers that contain strong magnets can be placed close to the TV unit."

The reason for this has to do with magnetic fields causing electron beams to deflect. In the old Cathrod Ray Tube (CRT) television, the cathodes emit electronic beams that travel inside the vacuum of the CRT until they hit the backside of the screen where they give off light energy. They have to be deflected precisely to produce the proper colors. However, nearby magnetic fields can cause these beams to slightly change from their normal paths to produce color distortion. In the newer LCD and Plasma televisions, there are no electronic beams flowing through a tube to deflect.

If you place a speaker near a CRT television, you will notice color distortion on the screen closest to the speaker. When you place a speaker near a LCD or Plasma television, do you see any color distortion on the screen closest to the speaker? You shouldn't.

How do you clean a LCD television?
Q. We just purchased a Sony Bravia 40 inch LCD HDTV and I am unsure of how to clean the screen.

A. Go to RADIO SHACK, PURCHASE THE $20 Monster Screen Cleaner Kit.....PROTECTS THE PLASTIC, grabs dust with it's grabby little microfiber cloth.....What else do you want or need to use on a $700 Display that can be DAMAGED BY WINDEX, or any other cleaner......ever seen brittle plastic due to what's in our air?

That's why I chose to use this stuff for my Customer's TV sets....

What is the pros and cons of having a built in tuner in a television set?

Q. My second question is about service life. What type of tv technology will serve me for 10 or more years reliably like the old technology? For instance Plasma, DLP, LCD, HDTV are all different types of technological platforms that provide marvelous results, I just don't want to buy a TV that cannot be repaired and will not last like an appliance.

A. Without a tuner, you will certainly need a "box". or video device to plug into it.

I suggest buying a warranty when purchasing a TV of these types. It save me almost a $1,000.00. I had a large LCD TV that died in 6 months. They couldn't fix it (only replace it), so I got a better and bigger TV at no extra cost, all under the extended warranty!

Can I use my Panasonic LCD HDTV as a computer monitor?
Q. I want to use my Panasonic LCD HDTV as a computer monitor. My computer only has a VGA input. My Panasonic LCD HDTV has these types of connectors:

2 HDMI Inputs
2 S-Video Inputs
3 Sets of A/V inputs
1 Set of 3 Composite Video inputs

I want to know which type of cable can be used to connect my LCD HDTV to my computer. You can also mention cable strategies such as :

VGA to DVI to HDMI

I also want to know if I can buy these types of cables at a store (CircuitCity, WalMart, RadioShack, etc...). Please don't mention anything about Video Cards.

If you impress me with your answer, you'll get 10 Points. Make sure your answers as detailed as possible.
Why do I need to buy a video card?

This is an example:

http://www.computercasesandcables.com/ccac/images/items/CV-25120_L.jpg

With this cable, I can connect my computer to the LCD HDTV. Are there any other cables like these buy in different formats or does anyone know where can I buy this type of cable?

A. You can use the s video but the quality wont be as good

Sitting 14 feet away from a 32 inch LCD HDTV?

Q. I was planning on getting a 32 inch LCD HDTV but I read from amazing that I shouldn't be sitting more than 8 feet away in that case. Will there be a noticeable difference if I sit 14 feet away?

A. Its just like any other TV you may have owned or used in your lifetime. There is going to be a sweet spot in viewing distance. If you sit to close it might hurt your eyes. If you sit too far back you might lose a bit of the details on the screen. That's about it.

32" would have an optimal viewing distance more in the 4-6 feet kind of range. So in watching it from 14 feet away, you likely will not see some of the finer details in the programming you watch. But that doesn't mean you still won't see and enjoy the programming. I think the biggest impact it might have is for sports and trying to follow a small object (puck, golf ball, etc.). But most news and like drama or comedy TV shows should be fine. Even movies off of BluRay or such would be fine, they just won't be "optimal" (but optimal is a subjective thing anyway).

You didn't mention why you're going at 32" though? Are you looking at that size cause of budget or cause of restrictions of how physically big the TV can be in the spot you're putting it. If its physical size and you're stuck, well not much you can do. If its budget, I would honestly consider a 42" 720p Plasma. You can pick up one of those without going a lot higher than a good 32" would cost you.

A good quality 32" set is likely going to float you in around $400, maybe a bit less. A 42" Plasma from ABC Warehouse can be had for $539 (I'd recommend the Panasonic one). Right now there are 3 42" 720p Plasmas on sale at ABC Warehouse for $539. So yes it is definitely more than a 32" set, but 42" isn't completely unattainable I would think. And 720p is all you need at 42", especially at 14 feet back. If you can manage that, I think it would give you a bit better result.

How do I fix my cable quality?
Q. I just got a new Samsung 32" 720p LCD HDTV a week ago, and the quality on my cable is horrible. Everything is enhanced while I'm playing video games, but it's kinda bad when I'm watching cable. Everything looks slightly smudged.

A. YOU can't fix it. It's an issue between you and your cable provider. This assumes you are using component or HDMI cables, and that they are correctly hooked up.
I suspect that you have standard cable service. if so, and you want high quality TV reception, you'll have to pony up a few extra bucks a month and get HD service to take advantage of your HDTV!

What do the good people of Yahoo Answers think?

A. It is definitely something i wish I could afford...The only problem I see here is that the power supply might not be enough for both those video cards. The 680 needs at least 550w and the 640 needs at 350w so, you need a better power supply for it. Other than that..it's a really good computer with tons of stuff.

Seniors I'm thinking of buying a new TV. What brands do you think are good and what sizes?

Q. LED, HDTV not sure what this means? Some ideas please!

A. I suggest that you look at flat panel televisions that are high definition (HDTV); Sandy Sue. There are many brands and 3 types of flat screens to choose from; Plasma screens, LED, or LCD.

Most of the brands of HDTV flat screens will work well; so shop around for price. Do a little research online; and then go into a store and check out the brands that interest you. Look at the tv straight on and from the side, to see which picture looks best. Compare the colors and clearness of the pictures.

The size of the screen will depend on the size of the room where the tv will be placed. We have two tvs, one has a 42 inch screen and one has a 48 inch screen; the rooms are about 10x14 feet. We could have gone with bigger screens, but honestly, these screens are more than big enough. If your rooms are smaller, then you could get a smaller screen.

Our 42 inch flat panel screen HDTV is an LED screen, Samsung. The picture is clear and sharp and the color is good. We can view it from the side without a problem. The screen burnt out after 2 years, and we were able to replace it, but it cost a pretty penny. The tv is now 6 years old and works like a champ.

We've had our 48 inch flat panel screen HDTV for about 18 months; it is an LCD screen and is the LG brand. I love this tv, it does use less energy and doesn't get as hot as any of our other televisions. The picture is great and we have not had any problems with it at all.

Just look for a picture that you like, a size that you like, a price that you can afford, and check reviews of the tv you are considering. I know that the choices are dizzying. We did a bit of research, went to the stores more than once, picked the televisions we liked the best, and then waited for them to go on sale.

Good luck!

What is the best LED television for people on a budget?
Q. I am moving in with my best friend who only has an old, 42 inch television. We are looking for a flat screen tv, preferably LED, must be in the forty inch range and have 1080 resolution. I have found a few tvs like this in the four hundred dollar range, but I know nothing about tvs. What is the best tv fitting these parameters in the four hundred dollar range?

A. LG 42LV3500 42-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LED HDTV is replacing my LG 37 in LCD television, my 37 inch was working perfectly but decided to up grade to full HD and the LED model, I have to say the picture color and clarity is stunning to me, minor adjustments were to make the auto picture dimming set to medium, and the usual detailing of the picture but I have all my components linked up via HDMI and I am really impressed, one feature I like is the live scan, with this turned on you can operate the television or the blue ray and the TV knows how and what to change to and back to automatically, pretty cool feature In my estimation you can not go wrong with LG its kind of a thing of either you like there products or not, I have several appliances that are LG and have never had an issue with anything, I am expecting many years of fine television viewing.

What is the difference between a LCD-HDTV with 720p and 1080p?

Q. What is the difference between a Vizio LCD-HDTV with 720p and 1080p? I'm considering buying the 32 in with the 720p.

A. You'd have to sit 6 feet or less from your 32" TV to see the difference between 720 and 1080 in terms of resolution. See the following chart...

http://s3.carltonbale.com/resolution_chart.html

How do I access the adjustment menu on my television?
Q. 42" Westinghouse LCD HDTV 1080p

I wish to reach the adjustment menu so I can calibrate a few things on the television.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
Not the menu or settings; I'm looking for the "Adjustment" Menu, it has more advanced options available.

A. Try to see if there is a Menu or settings button on the remote.

What TV would be best for my grandma?

Q. I have a 76 year old grandma whos TV just broke. It was an old Zenith 25 inch. It was kinda fuzzy. But she has eye problems. She lives in an apartment building with a roof antenna. So we bought her a Westinghouse 26 ince HDTV LCD. It has a built in HD tuner so we could get the HD channels. We live in the chicago area so the channels we get are 2, 5, 7, 9, 32. The only thing she doesn't like is that you have to enter for example 32.1 to get the channel 32 HD. Otherwise it's fuzzy. She also wanted something bigger. No bigger that 32 inch. Her price range is under 600. PLEASE HELP. IT'S AN EMERGENCY.

A. You're not going to find a 32" true HDTV for under $600 that isn't junk.

What kind of HDTV should I buy?
Q. I would like to spend around 500 or 600 and at least a 32" maybe even smaller ot bigger depending on how much. I usually like to play xbox 360 on it. Any suggestions please?

A. Andrew: it looks like the other people who have answered neglected to read your question - $500-$600 and 32" OR SMALLER. Bottom line, you are not going to find a 'quality' 32" LCD for $600.

However, in a 26" you can get a Toshiba 26HL47 or 26HL67 for under $600, and this HDTV is, unlike Vizio and the other brands you've never heard of, a quality set. My personal preference for a 26" is a Panasonic or Sony, but the price puts these over your budget, and Toshiba is my 3d choice and a very good quality LCD HDTV.

Despite the concern of some re: 1080p resolution, you DON'T NEED IT until you get a screen size of AT LEAST 46" - if you are a mere mortal, you won't be able to realize any difference of substance between 1080p and 1080i/720p at 32"!!! Good hunting.

Which hdtv is best for my playstation 3?

Q. I need to know which hdtv is best for my playstation 3. I thinkn about getting a samsung, but don't know which model to get. They have a new one out, but i'm not sure if it's good or not.

A. Unlike what he said, i recommend going with a Plasma because with an LCD, the picture will fade at angles, but with a plasma, it will not. Plasmas now have the same lifespan an an LCD with a more true color that the bright unnecessary lights of the LCD. Also, the human eye is incapable of seeing most 1080i on anything less than 50 inches, so i would recommend going with a 720p plasma.

Aside from Pioneer, the best picture out there is the new Panasonic which is as sleek looking as any other brand out there.

When i was shopping for my TV, a good friend who was a senior sales rep at best buy helped me out and saved me from spending extra money for something you wont notice, And at the price of the Panasonic, it cannot be beat.

Did anyone else buy the Polaroid '42 lcd TV that was on the front page of the WalMart Black Friday ad?
Q. I got it buy I'm having trouble finding any reviews of it. There's one guy on Amazon that hates it. And the few consumer review sites I found said that for the money it's a good buy for a mid level TV. For $798, I feel I got a good deal, but I'd like to find out what others think, and where they keep their TV settings at.

A. sorry to be the bearer of bad news but this tv isnt very good. this is not a mid level hdtv is is a low level hdtv. a good deal for the money? yes. is it worth it? no. polaroid make good cameras. thats it. their tvs are crap. they are cheap, have poor picture quality and use very cheap parts. also there is no fixing these tvs. they are a throw away tv. so i hope you pray this tv doesnt have any problems. you could have spent as little as an extra $200 and gotten a great name brand tv with much better quality and reliability. i personally think you should return it and get a better name brand one. believe me you really get what you pay for in hdtvs. get a brand like panasonic, sony, toshiba, sharp, samsung, lg. yes yes i know they are more money, but it will be well worthit. these are tier 1 or high level of quality tvs. you can even get a tier 2 or mid level hdtv like an olevia that will be a heck of alot better than that polaroid. im not trying to be rude at all. this is just my experience talking. so good luck.

How do I hook up a insignia lcd hdtv mounted on my wall to my xbox360 which is connect to suround sound and...

Q. How do I hook up a insignia lcd hdtv mounted on my wall to my xbox360 which is connect to suround sound and to the xbox brand hd dvd player????

A. Just use wires. It is like hooking up any other TV that is not on the wall. You can let them hang down and have a very unprofessional look or you can buy wires that are rated to go in the wall (make sure they are to avoid any code violations or insurance issues later) and then it will look more professional. Either way, you cannot run the power cord through the wall by law. Your best bet is, depending on the type of surround sound receiver you have, is to run all the wires into that and then 1 wire out to the TV.

How to change an hdtv in sd mode to get a hd picture?
Q. I recently bought a 37" Vizio LCD HDTV. However, when I press info to see the show it says the show then 480i SD. But I have an HD Cable Box and everything. How do I make it so I have an HD picture instead of an SD picture?

A. FIRST, you NEED to check your cable box....make sure in the menu that it's set to OUTPUT a 1080 signal.....if it's set for 480, that's all it will deliver to your TV set.

The TV itself is automatic....no settings in your TV to adjust.

Now, YOU NEED to use either an HDMI cable or a COMPONENT cable to get HD. You can't use your standard 3-wire cables to get HD.

Then tune your box to an HD station like Discovery HD...

Pc was built and purchased April.07

In the ad I posted pick up only in Bronx NY at my apt as I am not shipping.
Any 1 interested email Junemas@aol.com

A. Sell them seperately you'll get more... Basically you'll want to Take 25 to 30 % off the original purchase if the things are less than a year old.. If they are older you'll want to take about 50 to 60 % off the games especially ----and 40% off the tv. If microsoft drops the price of the elite them take the 25 to 30% off the currnet in store list price..

Hope this helps.. Also find out shipping cost and list that as a seperate cost to the buyer.

At the 46-50 inch range, why would anyone pick a LCD HDTV over plasma?
Q. The plasma is cheaper (from a quick Amazon search) and from what I've read the plasma has a better picture quality. I can understand at 60 inch range; the LCD's seem cheaper.

A. At 60 inches the LCD's are cheaper? I don't think so...

I personally would take a plasma over an LCD for just about anything 42 inches and up.

How can you replace a broken LCD screen in a Sylvania LC427SSX 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV?

Q. My sister in law left a broken Sylvania LC427SSX 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV. I looked online but I can't seem to find any place where I can find just the screen for replacement. Does anyone know where I can buy just the screen or how to fix it?

A. you need SKILLS and tools to replace the LCD DISPLAY PANEL.
However , if you known the PARTS COST , you will never want to replace it, and buy an new TV for sure.
New LCD display panel cost about 65 % of same screen size of new TV. + shipping and services charge to replace the panel . total is around 80 + % of new LCD TV.
will you still want to buy the display panel ?
Sylvania is handle by Funai same as Philips Brand TV sold in USA. the 42 inc display panel is made by Taiwan Che-Mei. if you comfortable with the prices. contact Funai USA.

Can my lcd hdtv survive out in my shed over the winter?
Q. I want to put my lcd hdtv out in my shed. I want to watch tv out there when i work on my snowmobile, but im not sure if the tv will be ok if left out there. I will heat the shed when out there, but not when im out there. The shed is fully weaterproof, but will still reach extreamly low temperatures.

A. The lowest of the low temperatures I saw (and this is brand, model and size dependent) was -22 degrees Fahrenheit. I wouldn't do it! Put a CRT out there, they can handle it, and if it dies....oh well. Don't hurt your HDTV if it means that much to you!

Can you transfer an extended warranty when you sell a tv to someone else?
Q. I bought a 46 inch lcd hdtv from circuit city in august, and bought the 2 yr extended warranty on top of 1 yr manufacturers. Im selling the tv on ebay/craigslist w.e, and i want to know if assurant solutions, the company that controls my warranty, lets me transfer ownership. Do they even know who owns the tv? or care? does it even have to be transfered if they have all the paperwork?

A. You will have to read the fine print in the warranty agreement.

Is the extended warranty worth it for an LCD HDTV?
Q. I just bought the 32" Vizio VIA XVT Razor LED LCD 1080p 120Hz on December 4. 2011. I have until December 2012 to decide if I wanna buy the 1 year extended warranty for it. I'm torn on this. I didn't buy a warranty for my previous HDTV, & it never gave me any problems. I got that TV when HDTVs were first coming out. It was a 26" Samsung for like $720.

The reason why I ask is because I use it a lot. I'd say roughly 10 hours a day. That's how much I used my Samsung (give or take). What do you think? These extended warranties aint cheap.
I got the TV from Sam's Club. I know the Vizio brand very well! I've known about it for years. When I first heard of them, they made budget HDTVs, but now people tell me that their TVs are very good. I read all the reviews on the TV before I bought it. I think it has a 4.6/5 rating based on 96 people. I wouldn't get it if it was lower than 4/5. I LOVE the TV. Very clear & vibrant picture.

A. I always advise TV buyers to *not* buy an extended warranty or protection plan. Statistically, anything that's going to go wrong with a relatively new TV will happen during the first year when it's covered by the manufacturer's warranty. If you buy an extended warranty for 2 or 3 years beyond that, the TV may or may not fail during that time, and if it does, the cost of repair could be less than the cost of the extended warranty. An extended warranty is a gamble, and the buyer rarely wins the bet.

By any chance, did you buy the set at Costco? If yes, Costco doubles the manufacturer's warranty at no extra charge, giving you 2 years for a Vizio.
-----------------
Per your additional details: your comments about Vizio are consistent with current professional lab tests, i.e. Consumer Reports. A few years ago Vizio was widely regarded as a low-end brand. That has changed. Some of their models are now showing up on C/R top ten lists, and elsewhere. I have a 24 inch Vizio in my office, and it's as good as anything in its class.

Using a HDTV as a computer monitor?

Q. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sharp+-+42%26%2334%3B+Class+/+LCD+/+1080p+/+60Hz+/+HDTV/3142087.p?skuId=3142087&id=1218379763676

As a doorbuster special on Black Friday, that TV will be $199.99 and I figure I would be a moron if I didn't pick that up. I would be using it for a gaming console for awhile, which is no problem, but around income tax time I plan on building myself a gaming computer, and I figure that rather than buy an expensive monitor I would just use this TV as a monitor, assuming this TV has the capability.

Now I know nothing about what would be required to do this. What sort of cables/adapters should I look for, assuming they're necessary at all? Will I need to take the specs of my computer into consideration at all?
The TV does have 4 HDMI inputs. So is that all I would need? HDMI ran from my computer to the TV?

A. Look on the back of your graphics cards. Is it blue. if so that is vga. If it is a tan color that is dvi.
you would need to get a dvi-hdmi connector
like the one found here
http://www.monoprice.com/products/search.asp?spcDB=10231&spcWord=Video+Cables+-+%3Cb%3EHDMI+%26+DVI%3C%2Fb%3E&keyword=dvi%20n%20hdmi

if you have a vga. I am not sure about the adapter. If you tv has a pc hook up look for what native resolution it supports

Tv picture quality question? ?
Q. Had a tv with great quality but I broke. Buying another one but I want to make sure it has at least the same quality

Broken tv: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sceptre-40-Class-LCD-1080p-60Hz-HDTV-X405BV-FHD3/16829822

Potential tv: http://www.walmart.com/ip/VIZIO-42-Class-LCD-1080p-60Hz-HDTV-E421VO/15992341

Are the picture qualities the same?

A. Rubbish. I wouldn't touch it with someone else's barge pole.

Please spend some time reading the questions on the TV section over a few days. You will find that "supermarket brand" television sets are always top of the list for reporting problems. This seems to be true whatever side of the Atlantic ocean you're on.

Don't be stingy. Spend a bit more and buy a proper manufacturer's brand like Sony, Panasonic, LG, Samsung or Sharp. You will get better quality picture and sound as well as a television that will last longer than two years.
