Best LCD HDTV 50+ TV?

Q.

A. Toshiba 22AV615DB 22-inch Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV is the best lcd tv.

Easy to set up on stand (just 0ne click, no screws to mess about with)and set up the Freeview. Bought this for my bedroom and is just the right size. Nice epg and remote. Picture and sound quality excellent, very pleased with this TV. A terrific price for a proper branded TV.Sony/Panasonic, which on such a small TV is not worth it anyway, well not for the extra £[]+ they were asking. All in all this Toshiba is a great widescreen TV at a great price. Go for it !

i want a cheap 50 inch plus lcd or led hdtv whats the best one include model number please?
Q.

A. You could get a real cheap 50 inch plus lcd TV these days. The reason why is that the there's heavy competition among the different brands. But from my experience I would recommend Panasonic when it comes to LCD. There's also Samsung and LG, but it often seems like Panasonic is one step ahead, when it comes to picture-quality.

If you want the most modern for the future technology you should consider a LED HDTV. However I wouldn't have bought a real cheap one. You should be prepared to pay considerable more for a descent quality LED HDTV, to get equal quality to LCD. This is because the technology is newer than LCD, and therefore the products are more expensive. Samsung has several 55 inch LED HDTV models, both the 7000 and 8000 series. The Samsung UN55B8000 is getting very good reviews, and is probably one of the best LED HDTV's right now. If you can't afford the UN55B8000, I would recommend buying a LCD HDTV instead of a cheaper LED HDTV.

LED-LCD TV or Plasma TV?

Q. I'm in the market for a new TV, in the 55" range, I will mostly play my PS3 and watch HDTV channels and sporting events, as well as Blu Ray's. I want to know which kind of TVs are better.

I want pro's and con's and if you own either, I highly request your opinion.

Models I'm considering are either the LED-LCD 3D Sony Bravia 55" 1080p 240 Hz
or the Samsung Plasma 55" 1080p 600Hz

Thanks for all feedback, this is important to me as I want the best of the best.

Is burn in still a problem with Plasmas?

A. The plasma's are cheaper, I would look into a panasonic plasma or LG plasma as those seem to have better picture than samsung. AS for LED, it's still more expensive and is a LCD in reality. The panasonic VT25 3d plasma won best TV for 2010 and is most likely cheaper than the LCD 3dtv. The first 100 hours just make sure you rotate your viewing on a plasma carefully ( I basically left my plasma on THX mode for 20 hours a day, 5 days with everything on zoom mode to remove any bars even when I was gone) after the 5 days I calibrated and even played the same video games for 5 hours straight and got no such image burn ( burn in is dead today, only image retention can happen and you can remove it by watching more HD). I had this panasonic plasma for 8 months and I got slight image retention kinda shadow ghost image from heavy gaming and after watching regular HD for 10 minutes it vanished. Just rotate.

best LED TV?????sony or samsung?
Q. getting a new tv.......gonna watch blu ray and ps3 and xbox 360....(thanks in advance for helping)
40" full hd....1seconds response time......slim and good looking....dont need 2 worry about the money...and im gonna hook it into my bose home theatre system :) :) :)

A. The best LED-backlit HDTV is made neither by Sony nor Samsung, but by LG.
The recent 2010 HDTV shoot-out at Value Electronics in Scarsdale, NY had the Panasonic VT25 plasma as the overall winner, with a Samsung plasma in 2nd place, but in 3rd place ahead of the Sony and Samsung LED offerings was the LG 55LX9500.

Here are the results:

1. Panasonic TC-P58VT25 (plasma)
2. Samsung PN58C8000 (plasma)
3. LG 55LX9500 (full-array local dimming LED-based LCD)
4. Sony KDL-55NX810 (edge-lit local dimming LED-based LCD)
5. Samsung UN55C8000 (edge-lit local dimming LED-based LCD)
6. Sharp LC-60LE925UN (edge-lit LED-based LCD)

As an aside, I wouldn't mention too much that you have a BOSE home theatre system, BOSE are the most over-priced underperforming audio products on the market today. They spend very little on research and development and far too much on marketing, which is why so many average consumers think BOSE is one of the best names in audio. The Acoustimass and Lifestyle systems in particular are absolutely awful for sound reproduction and you could get a $200 5.1 speaker system from Onkyo, Polk, Klipsch, Yamaha, JBL, etc., that will handily outperform and of the Lifestyle and Acoustimass systems.

Here's more info on BOSE - http://www.firstadopter.com/fa/archives/001749.html

The good news is because so many people are uneducated about BOSE you can still sell it and get your money back, unless you're still within the 30-day return policy in which case I'd advise you to take it back as quickly as possible. Otherwise list it on Kijiji or some local listing site, get 80% of your money back and pick up a nice Onkyo receiver/speaker combo and you'll be amazed at the massive difference in sound quality.

I have a Vizio 37 inch HDTV LCD. What is the best settings for color, contrast, tint, ect.?

Q.

A. id return it and buy a tv that is worth the money you spent on it.

What's the best way to take care of an LCD HDTV?
Q. I just bought a Vizio 26in 1080p HDTV adn I want it to last me. What is the best way to make sure my tv last long.

A. Take it back and get a better quality TV. A vizio is basically a WalMart type LCD tv. I had one and it lasted me only 3 years. I bought a LG after (way better quality) and I find it helpful that there are so many places that can fix LGs that if any problems happen I can take them almost anywhere. Plus Wal Mart is known for quality. Those TVs are made cheap. But if this isnt an option, an LCD tv is pretty much like any TV. Just dont throw anything at the screen and keep the default settings set. They normally are the better settings

Looking for 3D TV model advice?

Q. Looking for a recommendation for a Good 3D tv model/make.

Here are my desired specifications:
55" model
Wifi / Internet capable
web browser / system to view web content
2011 model release

Amy suggestions?

A. We've got an LG that we're more than happy with, having all you're wanting, 65" though. CNET has awesome reviews on TVs, as does Consumer Reports. Youtube also has electronic reviewing vieos that are helpful. Google has a wealth of information. I think it's best for you to do your own research, only you know what your specific needs are. Once you've thought about the type you want (plasma, LED, LCD), and once you've decided on whether you want passive or active shutter glasses (active shutters are very expensive, we're extremely pleased with the passives, but the type would depend on what TV you get), then look for consumer reviews. Amazon is one of my favorites.

what are the number 3 HD TVs on the market today?
Q.

A. Depending on what source you choose to get reviews, you can usually find the following three listed often in their top five

I usually rely on CNET reviews as a start, and they are pretty good with the testing and feedback.

Based on affordability, the current winners are: LCD and Plasma
Just remember, For rooms with natural light, LCD is the best
for darker rooms and better pictures, Plasma still wins.

There are pros and cons to each, you simply have to research and test them at show rooms, or ask friends, family and neighbours.

I personally have great experience with Panasonic and continue to stick to that brand. And what's more, Panasonic is always in the number one, two, or three spot.

so here are the top three for 2011( it will change, it always does)
Panasonic TC-PVT20/25
Samsung PNC8000 series
LG PX950 series

What are some WiFi built in tv these days? 2011 2010 models?

Q. main goal is to watch NetFlix & hate to run a cable to the TV.

thanks guys !

A. I don't know that there are any wi-fi TVs available for less than 5 grand right now, but you could get an internet connectable Samsung HDTV then get the wi-fi adaptor.

Internet connectable Samsung tvs...
(adaptor only works with Samsung 630 series LCD HDTVs, 650 series plasma HDTVs, 6000 series LED HDTVs and higher)

42" LCD HDTV Best value?

Q. Im looking for a 42" LCD HDTV for around $500-580 USD I'm wondering which is the best in your opinion

Right now im looking at the Panasonic TC-L42U22

A. Panasonic TC-L42U22 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV
I just got this TV for 2 weeks. Works great for gaming, Laptop/PC and HDTV. Great picture quality and sound. Very easy to set up! Sometimes, i use an HDMI cable to connect my laptop with the TV, it did a great job as a big size monitor!!!! I am very satisfied! Love it!!!

Honeywell soyo altura 32" LCD hdtv R100 OHM value?
Q. A resistance near the power input marked R100 burned. I need the exact OHM value for replacement. THX

A. Geesh! The resistor is 'burnt' for a reason!! Something ELSE is faulty causing it to burn.

You are obviously no where near being a competent person and should stay well away from electricity (especially high voltage!) As you don't know the basic resistor coding, basic fault finding, have no circuit diagram and have no idea of electrical circuits, smps power supplies in particular, get a competent engineer to diagnose the fault!

P.s the resistor burnt you mention is a common problem caused by other faulty components, don't just change it, you risk some BIG BANGS!!!!!!!!

Anyway IF the circuit board is not marked up R1, R2, R3-R100 THEN Lol, the 'R100' is 100 Ohms! (R(esistance) 100). is a common practice of marking component values. DEPENDING on the manufacturer!!

Vizio GV42L 42" HDTV LCD settings?

Q. I just bought a Vizio GV42L 42" LCD HDTV. Just a few questions:
1) what settings have you used for cable programming and/or movies, as I hear to get good picture you really need to tweak it right.
2) I have my comcast HD DTS box and progressive scan DVD player connected to the Vizio using component cables. When I'm watching an HD channel, it does look HD, and when I'm watching a DVD It does look much higher quality than typical analog cables..However, when I press the info button. It still says resolution coming it at only 480i. Should I be concerned and/or try using HDMI cables instead?
~Gavin Ng

A. I ran into this problem with my Samsung LCD.. the Cox Cable HD box wasn't automatically converting the signal to 1080i. You'll have to go into the settings of your cable box and manually switch it to 1080i... I ran through a setup process that it displays a bunch of screens and which ever one you can see it programs the box to use ...after that it automatically switched between the 1080i for the HD channels and lower 720/480 for the non HD channels.

Call your cable provider.. thats what i did to figure out the setup program.

*****Samsung 40" LCD HDTV or Sony Bravia LCD HDTV??? Need Help!!!***?
Q. It is time to get rid of my 8 year old tube TV and I finally narrowd down to two 1080p Flat Panel LCD HDTV TVs that I like. Samsung 40" and Sony Bravia 40". They are both same exact price with similar picture quality. I can not decide what I should get!

Does anybody have these TVs? What do you like and dislike about it?
Help me decide what I should get please~

Samsung - 40" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
Model: LN40A530

or

Sony - BRAVIA 40" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
Model: KDL-40S4100

A. Samsung all the way. My brother has a Samsung 1080p 52" LCD. All I can say is - b-e-a-utiful lol! I was recently at best buy inquiring about Samsung's ToC TV's and the LG Scarlet TV's. The salesman said that Samsung is the top company the whole way. Whether the normal LCD or the ToC, Samsung is the best!

What is the best 26" LCD HDTV?

Q. I'm on a budget of around 500-600 dollars so don't want to spend anymore than that. I had taken a look at a Westinghouse at Best Buy since I have a 22" WS monitor from them and love it, but when I asked them to plug in a dvd player to it, I can hardly hear the sound, is that normal also? Don't really want or need a 32" tv too.
When I mentioned I can hardly hear the sound, that was only after he plugged in the dvd player, once he swtiched back to TV without changing the volume, it was really loud. Anyone know why that is, so that if I get that TV, it won't happen to me?
And are there any specific examples of TV's to get with links and such that are within my budgets? I like quality in my picture, but I care about sound too.

A. For that type of budget, you should be able to get a nice 26" TV online. Check out the Samsung LN26A450 or Sony KDL26M4000.

Westinghouse is a budget brand, you'll get a decent TV but not the best.

26" Envision Flat Panel LCD HDTV???
Q. So I found this 26" Envision Flat Panel LCD HDTV at costco.com for $399.99. I was wondering if I should buy this one? Is Envision a reliable brand? I can barely find reviews on Envision. What is your opinion on this tv? Is this a great deal? Or will Costco.com come out with better deals?

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.asp...

A. I think you will get better deals over the next month. LCD TV prices are coming down and it will fall further

what LED hdtv should I buy to avoid noticing any Lag whatsover?
Q. Hi I have 2 Vizio HDTV. One is an LED and it is a 120 HZ and it is a 47 inch and the other is an LCD 47 inch one and also 120 hz. Now I am gonna give you a great example. You know for anyone who watches NBC Sunday Night Football and they go to the replay and the NBC Logo comes up to show the replay and after they show the replay the NBC Logs comes up again to go back to Live TV, well this is a great example because I notice somewhat of a lag when that happens and I see like a ghosting effect I guess and I also notice the pixels when that happens. It happens on other channels too but I notice it more on NBC Sunday Night Football. I have HD Directv with HDMI cable. So that isn't the problem. It is crazy because the other night I also watched the game on NFL Game Rewind app on the IPAD MINI and I didn't notice any lag whatsoever during the game. Is this lag or ghosting or whatever you want to call it caused by the response time of the TV or is it caused by the Refresh rate of the TV. I mean both of my Vizio TV's are doing the same thing and I even have a 3rd Sony 60 hz tv and it does it on that as well. So my questions are as follows:

1)Is the Lag caused by the Response Time or the Refresh Rate or what exactly?

2)Why is it on the IPAD Mini I didn't notice the lag?

3)I want the images to be crisp without any lag or ghosting or anything like that. What specifications on the TV should I look for?

4)For a 2013 say tv between a 30 to 39 inch what exact tv model do I look at to not see any lag etc?

5)How about a 40 to 50 inch TV which model should I look at?

6)Do I buy instead a monitor that is like 27 inch or 32 inch with an hdmi with a response time of say 1 ms. Please let me know.

Please answer each of my above 6 questions in details. Thanks.
For the Panasonic Plasma I should get a 1080P right rather than a 720P. The only problem that I have with Plasmas is that the picture is way too dim compared to the LED or LCD TV and I like a picture that is very bright. Please help. Thanks.

A. It's just a lag based on the distance of the TV and box from the satellite and just the broadcast in general. One of my family members had the same issue they have a 20 inch LED tv in their bedroom and a 32 inch LED tv in there living room. You can hear the TV's echo each other when on the same channel. Next the reason you didn't notice any lag on the iPad Mini is because it wasn't a live stream of it, it was a replay of what happened. So it's not looking for the live feed of the game over the internet, it's downloading it to the iPad's temporary memory just so it can play it through. This really isn't the TV at all VIZIO TV's are great options. This goes back to just DirecTV's ability to get the live video to the satellites and then to TV's across the US mainly. The only option would be to get a 240 Hz or 480 Hz HDTV but I really don't recommend that because those are mainly LCD TV's and LCD is probably the last option you want for a TV. LED is the best quality for a TV and LCD is better for a computer screen image. Overall for TV screen sizes you asked. The Best options are Samsung with there Smart HDTV's, Sharp's new IGZO display HDTV's, then Samsung is always reliable choice for HDTV's

Samsung - 19" 720p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV (LN-T1953H)?

Q. I'm thinking of buying this HDTV for my bedroom. I need to hear what you guys think. Now, this is not the first time that I'm buying an HDTV. I have a 46" Sony Bravia in the living room. I know all about the resolution's and stuff. If anyone has this TV please tell me what you think about it. Thanks!!!

Here is the link for the TV from Best Buy: -

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8251241&type=product&id=1169512520871

Oh, and I will give 10 points.

A. I just got this model for my kitchen and I love it. The picture is sharp and the colors strong. We have HDTV boxes through cable for our 32"Samsung and 37" LG and that makes the HDTV pop even more but for size and value, this 19" more than does the job. And Best Buy came in at a much lower price than Circuit City.

Help! Need help with Tweak settings for HDTV? ?
Q. I have a new Sony Bravia LCD HDTV 52" Model # KDL-52W4100. Can anyone explain to me how to treak my tv to get the best looking picture.
Thanks, Bob

A. The brightness, color, contrast values on the TV are set to 'torch mode' so the TV will stand out if it is used for a floor display.

You need to adjust these down.

The proper way is to use some test-patterns. There are 3 ways to do this:

- Use a Pixar DVD like Cars or Wall-E and the setup menu has some simple test patterns and instructions.

- Buy the "Digital Video Essentials" setup DVD (in either standard, BluRay or HD-DVD) for about $18 from Amazon and go through the tutorials.

- Pay an ISF Calibrationist to come to your house and calibrate the TV.

I suspect your TV has separate color/brightness/contrast values for EACH INPUT. This means you calibrate the input with the DVD player, but then you must eyeball the cable or sat input to match. You cannot use someone elses settings and you cannot use the values from your BluRay player for your cable box. The signals are different so each source must be calibrated separately.

Which HDTV should I buy?

Q. I am close to purchasing an LCD HDTV. It will be for overall family use, including gaming. I had my mind made up on a 40" Toshiba 1080p with high refresh rate for gaming, however a 46" Sony 1080p isn't much higher in price. The 46" has a lower refresh rate of 60hz and I'm concerned about screen image tearing during gaming. Does a refresh of 60hz adversely affect gaming imaging quality?

Advice is appreciated, thank-you

What's the smallest LCD HDTV with 1080P?

Q. Here's the deal: I do a lot of graphics work on two monitors that are side by side. One of them is a 24" CRT and the other is a 17" LCD. The LCD broke the other day so it's time to get a new one. However, I want to get an LCD HDTV instead. That way, I can chuck my ten year old TV and clear up more space in my room. Problem is that I haven't been able to find an LCD with 1080P under 32". I can probably fit anything 30" and under on my desk. This would be used as the second monitor to the CRT and as a TV/video gaming (PS3/XB360). I need that 1920x1080 resolution for my work, so please leave comments about 1080P being useless on screens smaller than 42" and etc at the front door. A 720P resolution just won't cut it. Also, I will only be a foot or two away from the screen, so I will be able to tell the difference in image. Any help? And does anyone have a 1080P TV that is below 32"?

A. There are many 19201200 WUXGA monitors in the 19- to 30-inch size rangeparticularly in the 23/24- and 26/27-inch classesthat are capable of functioning as a 1080p Full HD display. Finding full blown 1080p HDTVs in the same size range is still fairly difficult though a few new models are slowly beginning to trickle out. For what its worth many experts and enthusiasts believe the ultimate WUXGA/1080p monitor/HDTV in the 19- to 30-inch size range will utilize one of the various IPS (In-Plane Switching) LCD panel technologies, i.e., S-IPS, AS-IPS, H-IPS, etc., along with the obligatory overdrive technology to reduce panel response times. Included in the list below are several FPDs that utilize in-plane switching LCD panels.

The features that I believe are important in a high performance, fixed-pixel, HD flat panel display are: adjustable gamma control (preferably over the range of gamma values from 2.0 to 2.6,) good black level performance, rapid panel response time (16 ms or less - worst case measured response time,) good screen uniformity, 1:1 pixel mapping, native 1080p24 support, true 10-bit panel technology, accurate gray-scale and color reproduction including support for full display calibration for each input, fully HDCP compliant, HDMI/DVI AND VGA inputs (YPbPr component video inputs would also be a welcome addition,) and above all highly effective video and image processing. (In addition, with all things being equal I prefer LCD monitors or HDTVs that use RGB LED back-light units rather than the standard fluorescent lamp-based BLUs.)

With so many new high resolution, HD displays in the 19- to 30-inch size range it remains difficult to narrow-down the field of choices to a select few. Starting with the list below I recommend that you attempt to narrow the selection using your own criteria and then visit nearby dealers to thoroughly evaluate the chosen displays on your short-list.

Below is a brief list of 22- to 27-inch class WUXGA/1080p displays currently available from which one or more models should meet most of your requirements.

Is the Sony - BRAVIA / 19" Class / 720p / 60Hz / LCD HDTV a good TV ?
Q. I'm planning to get that for my room . I don't want it big so I want it 19'. but is it good? Some reviews at the store website said it's not good so I don't know .. it's $350 i think. I got a Toshiba 26' a couple days ago for $399.99 but it's not working that well ... so I'm planning to return it. Thanks.

A. I was in the market for a 32" LCD tv a month ago. I went to Best Buy web site and read all the customers reviews on all brands. The Panasonic tv had the best score for the reviews. I went to the store to purchase one, due to it was on sale for $399. The store had sold out and I purchased the 37" Panasonic LCD instead. Home Theater Magazine had the Panasonic tv in each of the price category of entry to high level, some brand did not make the list. Sony and Samsung did not cover all the price range. Sony is overpriced and there quality have dropped over the years. Hope this will help you out.

what is an LED-LCD HDTV?

Q. is it 3-d like with glasses. if it is i want to get one. i just want to make sure that its 3d like in theaters.

A. Not 3D. A conventional LCD set uses a fluorescent lamp for backlighting. An LED set is simply the same LCD TV with LEDs for backlighting. There are several technical advantages of LEDs over fluorescent lamps, but the picture is the same.
------------
Followup per the answer from "Diog." Number one, he didn't seem to understand your question. And number two, his response is not only needlessly insulting to two other responders, but he is also quite wrong. The picture source on an "LED" TV is absolutely NOT solely the LEDs. They absolutely are the backlight for the same type of LCD picture-forming display that has existed for years. If he or anyone doesn't believe that, there are plenty of references. I've cited one below. He can look it up, and then give consideration to being a bit more courteous while providing bad information.

LCD? LED? HDTV? What does all this mean?
Q. I'm about to buy a new TV since mine just went out. And since i'm about to be spending about a grand on a TV i'd like to get my moneys worth.. But their is all this new stuff.. What does all of it mean? Any suggestions? I'm wanting a Samsung 46" but LCD? LED? what..

A. Flat screen TV's are based on LCD technology (liquid crystal display). Plasma (PDP) is a different technology with similar results. LED means light emitting diode and is the basis of how your remote control and TV communicate. It's also an emerging display technology that uses less juice than LCD or plasma but they are still pricey, though the display will likely last far longer than its competition. As far as picking a TV goes, a big issue to consider is with inputs, outputs, and filters that will enhance the usability of your new HDTV. The more features you select, the more backwards compatibility you will have (ability to plug in your old NES or VCR). The overall performance also relies on advanced features. So basic guidelines for shopping would be to get a brand name TV, meaning a large and successful brand like Sony, Samsung, get the picture? As far LCD or plasma, that will depend on your viewing environment: a dark, cinematic setting will probably do well with plasma, and normal living room setting, you'll want the LCD. On a personal note, take your grand, do something GOOD with it (charity or a gift for your mom), and don't let the size of your TV symbolize how big a man you are. :-)

Plasma or HDTV which saves energy? Which is the best to buy?

Q. I want to buy a flat screen tv. But I want one that's a energy saver, and one that will last longer than 2yrs. w/o needing repairs.

A. Plasma TV / LCD TV / LED TV ( LCD-LED BACK-LIGHT ) all are HDTV. only difference in HD . full HD 1080 P or HD 720P.
Plasma TV available only 42 inc and above screen. prefect in total pictures quality suited for moving image / sports fast action movies with out so call " motion blur ".
OLD Plasma TV before 2007 is " junk ". very high power consumption over heat . easy burn in. life time not more than 40,000 hours.
Panasonic New Plasma totally " LIVE '. with out over heat. burn in is not an issue any more even long hours still image / play games.
all new Panasonic Plasma from 2008 models are ENERGY STAR QUALIFIED , 60,000 LIFE TIME .
some 2009 new models is super low power consumptions . compare to same screen size LCD TV , no difference in electric use. life time is up to 100,000 hours.better than LCD/LED TV.
if you looking for big screen , Panasonic New Plasma is PREFECT in total pictures quality and PRICES too.
http://panasonic.net/avc/viera/asia/product/z_plasma.html
http://www.smarthouse.com.au/TVs_And_Large_Display/Plasma/W3U2A3U7
^^
LCD TV come with full screen size from 1 inc to 108 inc. use 40 % less Power consumption than Plasma . such issue is over , New Panasonic Plasma power consumption W , is about LCD TV ( compare to same screen size ).
due to Response time . there must be so call motion blur, even hi end LCD TV try to use 120HZ / 240 HZ high refresh rate to " cover ' the motion blur. but really not that good .
if you like fast action sports movies, 120 HZ with 4 ms Response time is an MUST. but that only available to HI END models.REMEMBER . none of any LCD TV reach Plasma TV total pictures quality.
^^
LED TV ( LCD display use LED as back-light )
LED TV is RE-FINE of LCD TV. those LCD unable to performs well. like dark colour / black colour. LED TV just do it much better . LED TV able to cove much better in motion blur. due to lower Response time 2ms g to g standard .
LED TV use 40 % less ENERGY than LCD TV. compare to Panasonic Plasma is about 30-40 % less too. compare to OLD Plasma ( before 2007 models ) is 90 % lower !
LED TV total pictures quality is very close to Plasma. in general, Mose of human EYE will not get the difference between LED TV/ PLasma TV.
beware of some SMART consumer , there either do not compare or watch any LED TV before or there do not want to paid such high prices for LED TV. some once will tell you " no difference in pictures quality , just use difference back-light. is all the same .is LCD TV with LED back light . no big deal. " that totally not true. is totally some new technologies , the " back light " change and improve many areas. is make great difference. and is very easy for our EYE to noticeable the great difference between LED/LCD TV. jude by you own EYE.
HD 720P VS FULL HD 1080P.
technically , our eye will not getting the difference from an screen size below 40 inc. and the only source provide 1080P is via blue-ray. free view digital channel / Box cable TV / DVD all are 720P.
but TV maker always take LCD TV 720P models as STANDARD.
1080P models as mid HI END models . any 1080P models always much better in pictures quality than 720P models from any in-put source, need not via blue-ray. you eye able to notice the quality.
MAKER QUALITY.
International brand always in quality and reliable , WORTH to paid more.
Local in house brand / buyer brand is cheap, subject to quality and reliable .
an International brand HD 720P models MAY better than house brand 1080P in pictures quality.
Back to you Question > if the above answerer too technically. forget about it.
make it simple .
big screen . Panasonic Plasma PREFECT in PRICES and QUALITY. is LONG LIFE.
LED TV is lower power consumption. great pictures quality . but cost more.
LED TV > Sony and Sharp are new vision of LED technologies .
Samsung Pioneer in LED TV. but is very first LED technologies in use , need to improve.
all LED TV is 1080P 120 HZ or even 240 HZ.
LCD TV , if you need quality also less motion blur , go for hi end FULL HD 1080 P / 120 HZ models.
Samsung / LG / Sony / Panasonic / Sharp / Toshiba LCD equally quality in SAME RANGE PRODUCT. usually the above brand 90 % able to use for 5 years with out any problems.
screen size 42 inc and below , Panasonic is SUPER RELIABLE . 97 % of Panasonic 22- 42 inc able to use for 8 + years with out any repair.
never TOUCH any Local / house brand. there are not manufactures . 30 % get trouble in less than one year.

Which is a better HDTV; Plasma 600 Hz or LED-LCD 120 Hz?
Q. Both 1080p and 46 inch screen size

A. I say Plasma.
Response times and refresh rates are naturally almost instantaneous on Plasmas and they have better viewing angles as well. LCD/LED's have to use more technology to overcome their weaknesses in these areas. By doing so they can suffer from screen lag or blur if their processors aren't up to the task. Screen lag is when images seem to streak across the screen. Control lag can also happen. That's when the image on the screen doesn't respond quickly to your control inputs when you play games. Again the processors have to be up to task to render the image fast enough. And again, Plasma's don't have these problems.
Now a good LED/LCD would keep these issues to a minimum, and most from what I can tell are good, but I just went on and bought a Plasma anyway. I didn't feel like dealing with these issues if they were to come about. Plus, after all this time, LCD/LED's are still trying to play catch up to Plasma's picture. Some people call Plasma's outdated but it's funny how the best 3D TVs are Plasma's.
Yes, they use more energy but they don't seem to use much more than my old CRT and they don't get "hot". They do give off heat that will warm the TV but it's not dangerous to the touch or anything like that.
My 42' LG plasma has been great for my PS3 games, cable watching and Blu-rays. No problems at all.

My advice, get a good plasma and save some money. You really don't need 1080p either if you're not going higher than 42' and are only going to play games most of the time since most games are in 720p. 1080p gets the most out of Blu-ray's if you thinking about playing some later on it.

vizio lcd or lg plasma?
Q. I'm looking for a new hdtv. I've been looking at the vizio 42 inch 1080p. The whole reason I want the tv is for my PS3, and to upgrade from my 32 inch magnavox. The 1080p would be great for the ps3, up its not that big of name. I am now looking at a lg plasma 42 inch 720p. I'm not concerned about burn-in, so which should I choose?

A. LCD's are cheaper these days, and plasmas still have a burn-in problem.

I got a very nice LCD monitor awhile back (no TV tuner, since I get my tv signals from a cable box anyway - why pay for something you don't need???). An Olevia 37" for under $600. It's FABULOUS! Only 1080i, but I'm not thinking about going HD DVD just yet anyway, and 1080i is just fine for my HD cable box.

First time buying hdtv lcd?

Q. I'm looking to buy an HDTV LCD about 40-42" for under 1500, to use for watching movies, and gaming. I was thinking of getting the Sony KDL-40V4100 but can't find many reviews on that. Is there a better tv than that, that has more features & or better picture quality? Or is that a pretty good tv? Also is 120hz worth the extra cash? All help is greatly appreciated!!

A. Well, honestly I think that Sony is probably the best thing you could get for the 1500 dollars. Its got wonderful contrast ratios, 4 HDMI ports, 1080p which is excellent for gaming and for bluray BUT.... if you are willing to pony up an extra bit of cash for the 6 inches then I'd HIGHLY recommend the Samsung LN-T4671, I bought this tv about a month ago and could no be happier the picture is almost unnaturally smooth and the colors are as vibrant and the $3500 sony's in the stores, I am a bit partial to samsung's as now I have 1 dlp and 2 of their lcd's and wouldn't buy another sony or any brand from now on for that matter. And finally if you are looking to save a bit of money and go slightly cheaper I'd recommend the LN40A530, it is pushing just around 1200 and the picture quality is amazing as well (the other samsung in my house =D)

Which is a better buy, a LCD t.v. or a HDTV?
Q. What is the difference between LCD and HDTV? Which is a better buy? Which brand is best?

A. well a LCD TV is a HDTV.. one thing to look for how high the resolution is going to be on the TV.. now they dont make TV's that are lower then 720p. if you want a good tv i would recommend to go with a samsung.. it seems like you get more for your dollar with a samsung. they seem to have the higher contrast out of most TV's. sony's picture looks good too but you dont get much for your dollar. the highest HD picture out now that you can get is 1080p which is a step above the 720p. also, out of LCD's and plasmas, get the LCD. they have a better HD picture and they dont get as hot as the plasma. if you watch a good amount of TV at a time the plasma will heat the room a lot more then the LCD. overall the LCD is better IMO. i HOPE this helps.
