Q. Recently purchased a Polaroid 32 inch LCD HDTV, and I was very disappointed in the way it looked, plugged in and showing analog channels, and quality viewing in general. Is this normal, or should I really buy an HDMI cable, HD cable box, to truly view it as HDTV?
A. It's normal.
The problem with HDTVs are that the quality is low for SD signals and high for HD signals. Unfortunately, you have to deal with it until you upgrade to HD cable or satellite service.
Upgrading your TV service to digital and connect with an HDMI will cable will help slightly.
HDTV is high resolution. SD signals have 2.5 less resolution, therefore the TV has to upscale the image. Upscaling causes fuzzy edges, video artifacts and video noise. HDTV by design scale all images to the native resolution of the HDTV, either 1280x720 or 1920x1080.

Q. I was sure that lcd was better because i heard that u can have some kind of contrast burn from plasma but now im seeing that some people swear by their plasma as if it was amazing. Anyone with some insight>!????????
A. Plasma's have the best picture quality...PERIOD!
They don't suffer from burn-in anymore!
They don't use anymore electricity then other TV's on average usage!
And screen glare isn't as bad as it used to be!
They have the highest contrast ratio's(2,000,000:1 dynamic; 40,000:1 native) and the fastest refresh rates(600hz)! This makes them perfect for sports, movies & gaming! See the link below for more info and FACTS!
There still seems to be a lot of people on this website that seem to not want to come out of the HDTV Plasma dark ages! ALL of the problems that Plasma's have been plagued with in the past are gone! LCD lovers have nothing to use against Plasma's nowadays...but that doesn't mean they're gonna stop trying!!! DON'T LISTEN TO THESE PEOPLE! Seek the truth!
