Q. we are looking for a flat screen tv that we can buy in stores. we don't want to spend more than 700 and are looking at 32inches. this is one that caught my eye.

A. Insignia is a made in China, store brand, cheapie, third tier TV. You will get what you pay for! If that is all your budget will allow, step down in size and get a 26" in a high quality, name brand LCD like Panasonic or Sony. Actually, best bang for the buck in a 32" or 26" LCD may well be Toshiba. Read over the 11/07 Consumer Reports magazine HDTV article which addresses both performance and reliability.

A. If it's an HDTV, then it by definition must accept any of the standard ATSC signal formats, which includes 720p and 1080i, and the PS3 can output either of those according to how you set it up. You should use 720p (and not 1080i).

Of course, to get this signal, you need an appropriate cable. A composite or S-video cable won't do it. It must be component or HDMI.

Q. I am purchasing a 37 in. LCD TV and the price difference between 1080p and 720p is $200.00. Is it worth it?

A. If your TV is 40inches and under, 1080p (Depending on viewing distance) will not look a lot better than 720p. Any TV bigger than 40 inches will notice an increase from 720p to 1080p. (Again depending on viewing distance)

If you have a 720p TV you may or may not be able to view a 1080p source. Not all 720p TV will accept a 1080p source, most will only accept a 1080i source. And if your TVs Native Resolution is only 720p, there is no point in running a 1080i signal, because the TV will just convert it to 720p anyways.

How to make computer screen fill LCD Monitor?

Q. Hello,

I have a Philips 19PFL3504D/F7 19-Inch 720p LCD HDTV hooked up to my desktop.
Unfortunately the screen doesn't fill the monitor in length at all!
I was wondering how I could make it do this without distorting image??

Also the desktop has Windows 7 if the helps any.

I suspect that you have standard cable service. if so, and you want high quality TV reception, you'll have to pony up a few extra bucks a month and get HD service to take advantage of your HDTV!

A. most won't tell the difference for 1080p until you get over a certain size and distance from the screen.

Most would agree that 1080p after 46" starts to be a "must have". your under that so it really depends on your player and tv set.

don't listen to the guy talking about hdmi being the only way to get HD. I use component just fine for my ps3 and other blu ray players. I don't even have a 1080p set but I prefer my "tweaked avia set" over those over blown contrast sets you get these days. It's all preference.

I run mine at 1080i and 720p.

Hdmi is by far the cheapest way to go since it's one cable and you don't have to worry about shielding as much as a component cable.

There is a difference from HD over cable/sat, Over the Air (OTA), and blu ray/ HD dvd. Watch the bit rate stream. PS3 lets you watch it as it is playing. Cable/Sat is capped and OTA is generally better if you have a good signal since it's not as compressed.

First of all, are they compatible with each other? Would I need to purchase a coaxial cable to connect the TV to the soundbar? I have an XBOX 360, blu-ray player, and Wii U all connected to the TV via HDMI ports. Would I be able to hear sound from those devices if the soundbar is connected to the TV or does it have to be connected to the specific device in use at the time?

A. Yes.

You will be connecting the TV to the soundbar via optical cable and the setting then TV speakers to External in the user menu. Then connect everything using HDMI and your cooking with gas.
