Whats the better deal on tvs?

Q. I'm looking for a small flat screen tv. I want a great picture and I want it to be cheap. I saw Best Buy has two black friday deals..
Option #1: Sharp 42" Class LCD 1080p HDTV..for $199....
Option #2: Dynex 24" Class LCD 1080p HDTV for $79.
Twenty four inches would be big enough for me, but does Dynex make good tv's? I also saw Walmart had several deals:
Option #3: Emerson 40" LCD tv..$248
Option #4: Samsung 32" LCD..$278
Option #5: Emerson 32": LCd..$188

As you can see.. I have too many options. Let me know which one I should get and why.

A. All the tvs you have looked at are the bargain price tv. They do not last long and would not recommend any of them. If you read yahoo questions, you will notice that 95% of tv problems comes from those bargain price tv. Keep in mind, you get what you pay for. Panasonic and Samsung are the top brand for reliability. Hope this will help you out.

Do you think that this is worth buying?

Q. I want to get a new tv and at best buy they have this sale for a 42 inch for $200.I know it hasn't been released yet but I want to conform it's worth buying.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sharp+-+42%26%2334%3B+Class+/+LCD+/+1080p+/+60Hz+/+HDTV/3142087.p?skuId=3142087&id=1218379763676

A. I saw this too, and was wondering the same thing. But it says a minimum of 10 per store. So they could only have 10 at the store you go to. So i highly doubt you'd even get it. I remember last year me and my dad went for a tv, and we were close to the front of the line, and they were gone before he even got to the tv section. And they had 50 in stock. Also i think the tv's a cheap version. With probably okay picture and okay quality. Probably not that great. Because why would they sell it so cheap if it was a good tv? They just want to get rid of it because they know they couldnt sell it otherwise.

Using a HDTV as a computer monitor?
Q. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sharp+-+42%26%2334%3B+Class+/+LCD+/+1080p+/+60Hz+/+HDTV/3142087.p?skuId=3142087&id=1218379763676

As a doorbuster special on Black Friday, that TV will be $199.99 and I figure I would be a moron if I didn't pick that up. I would be using it for a gaming console for awhile, which is no problem, but around income tax time I plan on building myself a gaming computer, and I figure that rather than buy an expensive monitor I would just use this TV as a monitor, assuming this TV has the capability.

Now I know nothing about what would be required to do this. What sort of cables/adapters should I look for, assuming they're necessary at all? Will I need to take the specs of my computer into consideration at all?
The TV does have 4 HDMI inputs. So is that all I would need? HDMI ran from my computer to the TV?

A. Look on the back of your graphics cards. Is it blue. if so that is vga. If it is a tan color that is dvi.
you would need to get a dvi-hdmi connector
like the one found here

Which LCD t.v. would you buy out of this 3 and why?

A. The Panasonic TC-P42U1 is a newer on than the other Panasonic. Vizio is a cheap brand that will not last. Costco also carries the Panasonic brand at the store or online. Go online to Home Theater Magazine and read the reviews on tvs along with the pro and con of Plasma and LCD tvs. You will notice that Panasonic has a tv recommended in each price category of entry level to the high end. While Sony, Samsung and Toshiba does not (December issue). Other brands like LG, Sharp, Sanyo and Vizio did not even get mentioned. Plasma is still considered to have the best picture quality of all tvs in the market. If you read yahoo questions you will notice that 95% of tv problems are from off brand tvs. Panasonic also has the best customer service support center. Hope this will help you out.

Do 60hz LCDs lag in sports even on sport mode?
Q. I am going to buy a new tv a sony bravia, it is 60hz lcd and i hear it will lag in sports and games. it has modes for games and sports does this make a difference to the lagging
thnx

A. yes it does lag due to slow response times, you will
see smearing when a football player runs for instance.
The 120hz LCD's or 240hz LCD's cost more but with
the 120hz/240hz the refresh rate is increased and also
you should look for a LCD with a response time of 4ms
or less. A 120hz/240hz LCD with a response time of
4ms or less would be a higher end but will combat and
help reduce a lot of the blur issues that standard LCD's
suffer from. A plasma has 600hz, with 0.001ms response
times and mega contrasts out the box which is why they
are recommended for sports.

I would recommend these TV's if you are on a budget,
I will add 42-50 inch models.

Whats the best 42" flat screen tv for around $800?

Q. i am gonna be buying a new tv soon, i will be using it for Media (dvd's,Blueray and games) i want a 1080P tv for my Xbox 360 and PS3 i don't understand what Hz are on a tv either

A. For that price and size TV, you need a Plasma TV! LCD is too expensive for that size!

Plasma TVs have been picture qualities anyway! Plasma TVs have the highest "native" contrast ratios(40,000:1), giving them the blackest blacks and most vivid and rich looking colors! They also have the fastest response times(.001ms) and fastest refresh rates(600hz)! Making them the best at producing the sharpest and smoothest motion possible with content like sports, movies & gaming!

This is a great deal on a awesome TV!

Panasonic 42" 1080p(TC-P42S1): http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Panasonic+-+VIERA+/+42%22+Class+/+1080p+/+600Hz+/+Plasma+HDTV/9317287.p?id=1218084032650&skuId=9317287

Also a awesome TV!

Panasonic 42" 1080p(TC-P42U1): http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Panasonic+-+VIERA+/+42%22+Class+/+1080p+/+600Hz+/+Plasma+HDTV/9244301.p?id=1218066284214&skuId=9244301

Comparable LCD TVs(barely):

LG 42" 1080p: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/LG+-+42%22+Class+/+1080p+/+120Hz+/+LCD+HDTV/9246737.p?id=1218067378936&skuId=9246737
Philips 42" 1080p: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Philips+-+42%22+Class+/+1080p+/+120Hz+/+LCD+HDTV/9578664.p?id=1218129863461&skuId=9578664
Toshiba 42" 1080p: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Toshiba+-+42%22+Class+/+1080p+/+Clearscan+240+/+LCD+HDTV/9267125.p?id=1218071907259&skuId=9267125

Hz for a TV refers to the rate at which the TV displays a frame of an image. So if a TV is 60hz, it displays a frame 60 times a second! 120hz...120 times a second and so on!

Hope this helps!

sharp or a philipps HDTV?
Q. i dunno much about tvs. im plannin to buy a tv thats under $1000. somewhere between 700-800 bucks. so far, my main choices is the "Philips 42PFL5603D/27 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV" OR "Sharp LC 42SB45U - 42" LCD TV - widescreen - 1080p (FullHD) - HDTV - black"

heres a link to those tvs:

http://www.amazon.com/Philips-42PFL5603D-27-42-Inch-1080p/dp/B00140P90G

are these good tvs? im planning to get one of these at walmart since i get a discount. are these good or can i find better? and which of the 2 is better and why??

A. Philips use to be No 1 in TV. but times change. Philips LCD TV is not so great since 15 years ago, when Philips TV section HQ move to Singapore , also Philips and LG Korea JV to manufactures LCD Display panel ( from Sep.2008 Philips given out JV ,sold to LG ). Philips TV now are also link with China Konka and TCL group for LCD TV designs/productions.Those TV sold under Philips brand in North America is all made in Thailand by Funai electric. compare to other Worldwide Brand ,Philips TV is the mose lower class/quality . Sharp TV always in great quality. Sharp made own LCD display panel in Japan.Sharp is world lagers LCD Display panel manufactures since 13 years ago . even Sony 40 inc above size screen LCD panel is from Sharp ( Sony did not made own LCD display panel ). Sharp TV is great in pictures quality and reliable . go for the LC-42SB45U-w never go wrong. * Samsung is one of the great TV in the market.so call " cheap and good ", Sony also great, but over prices. **

Tv picture quality question? ?

Q. Had a tv with great quality but I broke. Buying another one but I want to make sure it has at least the same quality

Broken tv: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sceptre-40-Class-LCD-1080p-60Hz-HDTV-X405BV-FHD3/16829822

Potential tv: http://www.walmart.com/ip/VIZIO-42-Class-LCD-1080p-60Hz-HDTV-E421VO/15992341

Are the picture qualities the same?

A. Rubbish. I wouldn't touch it with someone else's barge pole.

Please spend some time reading the questions on the TV section over a few days. You will find that "supermarket brand" television sets are always top of the list for reporting problems. This seems to be true whatever side of the Atlantic ocean you're on.

Don't be stingy. Spend a bit more and buy a proper manufacturer's brand like Sony, Panasonic, LG, Samsung or Sharp. You will get better quality picture and sound as well as a television that will last longer than two years.

If it is a tan color that is dvi.
you would need to get a dvi-hdmi connector
like the one found here
http://www.monoprice.com/products/search.asp?spcDB=10231&spcWord=Video+Cables+-+%3Cb%3EHDMI+%26+DVI%3C%2Fb%3E&keyword=dvi%20n%20hdmi

if you have a vga. I am not sure about the adapter. If you tv has a pc hook up look for what native resolution it supports

I plan on buying a Insignia® - 42" Class / 1080p / 120Hz / LCD HDTV , I wanted to know if this will be to big?

Q. Will this TV be to big for my bedroom? I made a guess measurement and I will be sitting at least 7-8ft away from the TV. I know the recommended is 10ft but 7 or 8ft is pretty close to 10ft. Thanks

A. I don't know who told you that 10ft was the recommended seating distance but that 42" 1080p TV is perfect for your seating distance!

The recommended seating distance for a 42" 1080p TV is between 6ft to 8ft! The distance for a 42" 720p TV is between 8ft to 12ft! Maybe that's were the mix up came from.

Just FYI...if you plan to buy that TV, get an extended warranty with it! Insignia is not a very reliable brand of TV. They have problems with their power supply boards and inverter boards! I recommend LCD brands like Panasonic, Samsung, LG, Sony, Sharp or Toshiba!

Hope this helps!

Which TV brand is better-Vizio, or Best Buy's in-house brand, Insignia?

Q. Looking to purchase a new 32 inch HDTV for my bedroom, but avoid breaking the bank.

A. It is hard to compare brands, but you say that you want a 32 inch TV, so I'll go off of that;

Vizio's 32" class is 720p (HD compatible), has 60Hz refresh rate(decent), and costs $378. That is a very good price. (http://www.walmart.com/Vizio-32-LCD-HDTV-VW32L/ip/5623472)

Insignia's 32" class has 1080p (HD compatible, which displays a more even arrangement of the pixels, therefore a nicer picture than the Vizio's 720p), it has 60Hz refresh rate but is $399. So, for 21 more dollars you can get a nicer picture.

To conclude, I would say that Insignia's 32" class is a better TV, and if you buy it from BestBuy, they will deliver, install, and remove an old TV for a low fee. =) Theres my two cents! I hope it helped.

If I could make suggestion, however, I would say that a Sharp or a Samsung would be best. I have a 42' Sharp and a 52" Samsung, both are HD and they are awesome. Most reviews for the TVs (yes, I am going on reviews, since I've never had a Vizio or a Insignia sadly) that you want say that they break down often. So, if you do choose to go with the Insignia or the Vizio, I suggest that you get a warranty. Although expensive, they wil help you significantly.

I did quite a bit of research, so I hope you will take a few seconds to look at the links below that I referenced =)

And if I can leave you with one of my favorite phrases... You get what you pay for!

Option #4: Samsung 32" LCD..$278

As you can see.. I have too many options. Let me know which one I should get and why.

A. All the tvs you have looked at are the bargain price tv. They do not last long and would not recommend any of them.

If it is a tan color that is dvi.
you would need to get a dvi-hdmi connector
like the one found here
http://www.monoprice.com/products/search.asp?spcDB=10231&spcWord=Video+Cables+-+%3Cb%3EHDMI+%26+DVI%3C%2Fb%3E&keyword=dvi%20n%20hdmi

if you have a vga. I am not sure about the adapter. If you tv has a pc hook up look for what native resolution it supports

Q. I want to get a new tv and at best buy they have this sale for a 42 inch for $200.I know it hasn't been released yet but I want to conform it's worth buying.

If it is a tan color that is dvi.
you would need to get a dvi-hdmi connector
like the one found here
http://www.monoprice.com/products/search.asp?spcDB=10231&spcWord=Video+Cables+-+%3Cb%3EHDMI+%26+DVI%3C%2Fb%3E&keyword=dvi%20n%20hdmi

if you have a vga. I am not sure about the adapter. If you tv has a pc hook up look for what native resolution it supports
